Community Guidelines

Yourlocalbasket is a community marketplace and our community chatroom's are integral to the community-based user experience. Please use common sense and good judgment when posting in these community spaces or sharing your personal information with others.

  • Yourlocalbasket’s community ethos is all about helping buyers find amazing local products. We believe any product can be found locally, so it’s down to your community as a collective to keep shopping local and bring it home!
  • Both buyers and sellers are encouraged to post fellow sellers products in the communities to help buyers find what they are looking for.
  • All sellers, buyers and community members are encouraged to help answer questions and find buyers the products they are looking for locally.
  • As a seller you can join up to local 20 communities within 50 miles of your registered address.
  • As a buyer you can join as many local communities as you like within a 50-mile radius of your registered address.
  • Sellers are allowed to post Two ‘special offer’ per community per day.
  • Please do not spam communities with products / promotions and advertising. We reserve the right to remove you from any community and from ‘yourlocalbasket’ if we believe you are not communicating and participating in the harmonious community ethos we encourage.
  • Please keep communication relevant to local products and helping the community find, buy and sell as much locally as possible.
  • Please refrain from public disputes. Please settle all disputes by private message or by emailing info@yourlocalbasket.com.
  • Please refrain from any form of abuse and inappropriate language. We reserve the right to remove you from any community and from ‘yourlocalbasket’ if we believe you are not communicating and participating in the harmonious community ethos we encourage.

Be aware that any personal information that you choose to submit there can be read, collected, or used by others, or could be used to send unsolicited messages to you. We engage certain third parties to assist in providing community services to you and, in the context of that relationship, we need to share some of your information with such third parties in order to provide that service. This may include, for example, information from your ‘yourlocalbasket’ account that is publicly available, your account’s status, your community posts and memberships, your ‘yourlocalbasket’ username and/or shop name, the display name you’ve optionally chosen to share publicly in your ‘yourlocalbasket’ account, avatar image, the date that you registered on ‘yourlocalbasket’, as well as your language and regional settings on the Site. If you close your ‘yourlocalbasket’ account, your Community account, which allows you to post in communities, will also be closed and related personal information will be deleted. However, your posts may remain public after your account is closed, although your name will no longer be displayed alongside the post. You are responsible for the personal information that you choose to post in community spaces through the Services. You can close or delete your Community account by submitting a request to info@yourlocalbasket.com.

Another member may follow your public activity on the site to receive updates, such as when you add an item to your public favourites. You may choose to make certain activities private through your account settings. You have the option to block any member with whom you do not wish to share your updates.
